you're the weakest link, good-bye
tangobaby was up very, very early and she asked me if i'd read andrew sullivan's piece on why sara palin still matters. i hadn't, but i have now. i wish the whole world would read it. although part of me wants ann robinson to come on and tell her to her face, "you're the weakest link, good-bye," since she didn't really seem to catch the clue from having lost the election, i realize now that it's so important that we keep questioning this bit of, in andrew sullivan's words, political malpractice. it simply must never happen again that a person so unqualified and unvetted is chosen for such an important role.

"That the press felt required to maintain a facade of normalcy for two months - and not to declare the whole thing a farce from start to finish . . . " Quote from the Andrew Sullivan piece. This guy is just a bit arrogant, don'tcha think? I mean, had the press just declared it all a farce, well, then, we'd all know, we'd all be so much smarter, we'd all understand. We just needed the press to help us poor uneducated fools, to point us in the right direction, to explain to our poor befuddled brains, and hey, maybe then even Palin would've gotten it - she coulda thanked the press for their wisdom & bowed out.
But it gets better! Mr. Sullivan, to illustrate what he calls Palin's "bizarre behavior", links to an article he himself wrote - what a surprise- thank goodness he's looking out for all of us poor idjuts - about Palin's last pregnancy?!!! And I'm supposed to take this guy seriously?
I think not.

debi--arrogant or not, i'm glad that i prompted you to read the article.
Julie - I always do. That's how you find out stuff.
:)
Julie, thanks for sending me the way of that article. I don't care who Sullivan is(or who he thinks he is) what he is, is RIGHT. We should all be outraged (as opposed to/or in addition to being tittilated and irritated) that this country came so close to that disaster. Of course we're lucky that we're standing on the other side of the election with Obama in our future. But yes, let's look at what could have been and ask WHY? HOW? I literally shudder at the thought.
I too wonder "how did this happen?" I mean, we closed Hillary out (though personally I liked her). And we bring the Palin woman in as some sort of substitute? Talking about apples and oranges...
