I've been to different places in Europe and the US, but have also only passed through JFK, never been to NYC. I'm always afraid I'll get mugged -- foolishness, I realize, but still.
I want to get to Vermont someday just because I want to find an old country store off the side of the road...like the ones Ina Garten finds in East Hampton, etc. I'm sure some fab ones exist. Someday.
What else is on my list -- Italy, New Zealand (long flight), the UK, Germany (again), your Singapore looks lovely too!
Shock. I am DEEPLY shocked at this. There are many places I should have been but haven't..Washington springs to mind immediately. But NY? Oh my, you've got to some making up to do..
I seriously don't believe it! Are you doing a Spud and giving us a fake secret? :)
me either....though I long to be there
i heart nyc. I can't wait to run my 1st marathon there this november. I've had to sacrifice going to blog camp 2.0 in order to train...*sigh*
If you ever plan to go to nyc you must let me know!
totally hilarious! but you do have to make it up there very soon.
I have not been to New York either. The furtherest east we have been is Chicago in 1973.
By the way I love reading your "secrets" you write with such an interesting flare. If I could express myself like you do. What a gift!
Cool! One of the coolest bloggers in the world has not been to NY... I feel "vindicated".
I have never been to the East Coast of the US :-(
and this reminds me of how many times I have passed over the Pacific Ocean but have never once spent time in Hawaii! (Landing for fuel obviously does not count...I only got to see the inside of an airport!)
Julie, and Char...you've got a friend here, when you do finally make it. tt
You totally need to remedy. Like, soon.
I've been a couple times...my opinion is that everyone should see it, get a taste of Broadway and Times Square. BUT it's not really all that great. Trash out on the streets every night. It stinks. It's crowded. But there is a lot of life and history there so worth going.
Unless of course you are lying (as was previously suggested...)
Patterns and Perspective...I LOVE VERMONT. I've been there one time, but if I could live anywhere that is where I would choose!
I voted for your picture! Tried to do it more than once, but the computer was too smart. I will try to vote again from work tomorrow...LOL...different ISP!
My daughter went to NYC with her Dad and Step Mom during Spring Break. She loved China Town the most because she was able to shop...especially the purses. Such a silly girl. However, she took some really good pics. I will have to do a post and put them on so you can see. She took photography class last year and actually picked up a few really good tips. Should I continue to brag about her because that is what I do best...LOL
True irony for you, huh?
I've been to all states except Texas and Oklahoma - and probably will never get to those two.
Oh, and the most international place I've been is international waters, excluding Mexico and Canada. Tho East Los Angeles and Hollywood kinda have an "other place" feel to them. But so does Green Bay Wisconsin in winter.
Idea: Blog Camp NYC.
It's funny how, having been to NYC, I still wish I would have been to all these places that you have visited a gazillion times. Like the Balkans. I live a few countries up from the Balkans and still never have been there.
Hereby I must confess that the top secret from my Secrets list is going to be the one where I never read travel blogs just because they make me jealous. Weirdo, aren't I?
Wanna go? I have place to stay and native tour guides. What would you want to see in NYC? There is the touristy side and the real side. All good. We could do BC in PA and then follow up with a couple of days in NYC. It's no secret that there are many of us here who would love to meet you!
This is really a good one . . . for its sheer unbelievability!
When you do finally get there, I predict that you will LOVE it.
You and my hubby... he's been everywhere too and not NYC.. I managed to make it there once and called him to tell him I was having dinner in Manhattan... I think I made it into his Grudge book!!!
I still like to bring it up now and again.
I share the same guilty secret - now I don't feel so alone!
