secret 16 - my marilyn phase
back in the pageant days, i went through a marilyn monroe phase (doesn't everyone?). as you can see here, i even had a white dress like THE white dress. and the hair--the hair was pure, platinum marilyn. i even did a whole photo shoot as marilyn and some of those pictures are actually pretty good. but i don't have any of them here (they're clearly in the parents' basement). this photo is from an appearance at the state fair (i was miss state fair), hence the rockin' tiara. if only i'd been standing on a grate so my skirt would blow up....sigh.

Whoa ...
Fantastic, I wish I had access to my 'old' photos. They are all in storage...I could start a whole new project of Fashion Disasters of my Youth. Not that I'm saying this is a fashion disaster...
I love the commitment to the cause with the platinum hair.
Great secret! I'm seeing you in new light...;-)
Hahaha, I love how half your secrets go back to being in your parents basement.
I'm still trying to decide if it's Marilyn or Gwen Stefani you look like here...guess it doesn't matter...platinum either way!
no, beg to differ: never did go through a Marilyn stage. She couldn't get a look-in on account of me being so gone on Jane Russell - would be quite willing to go through one with her now, though.
Va va vooom! Great secret!
wow!!! great picture!!!
ahhh, who doesn't love a bit of the seven year itch?
miss state fair - i haven't seen a pagent in forever
Never heard of a Marilyn phase. Then again, I didn't know who she was for quite awhile. Not my generation.
Great dress! I love it, and fabulous secret!
now we know the real reason you refuse to empty the stuff out of your parents basement! It is a catacomb of secrets.
Haha! I used to collect Marilyn memorabilia, until it got out of control. Did I really want an entire room devoted to Marilyn Monroe? The answer to that question is NO! :) You did look pretty hot.
Gorgeous!
Stopping by just to give a little blog ♥
YOU ARE GORGEOUS!
And no, I did not go through a Marily phase...have you looked at my blog pic? LOL
You look so cute! I am still in my 50s phase! I don't own a dress that isn't sticky out at the bottom!
