weekend = time to play!

what's better to play with than replicas of old-fashioned tin toys? seen at den gamle by in århus. and yes, i did get one, it's that fish in the middle of the bottom picture. and it's so cool. it has a little fish inside of it. they really knew how to make toys in the olden days...

hope you have a lovely weekend, one and all...

  3. I love the fish, great choice. I have to admit tho, between fish, robots, Moo cards and stones... I really really want to see your house. I knew it was eclectic, but I think it's even more eclectic than I imagine...

  7. Gorgeous photos! I can hear the squeaking, rattling rumble of these toys all the way over here in California!

  8. I just love these! They remind me of my grandmother's toy box that she'd let us dig when we went to her place. There's something so real about these kinds of toys--a feeling that they'll last a few generations.

  9. Oh! Those remind me of that wonderful children's book by Brian Selznick, The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Have you and Sabin read it yet? If you haven't, you must. It is so good. C avoided it for a year until she saw me reading it, and then she devoured it in a few days.

  13. Hi Julia--

    I hope you check back, as there's no email address where I can answer you...the shop is within Den Gamle By in Århus, Denmark. I hope that helps.
