    It's the symbol of the Isle of Man. Called I think the three legs of man.

    Forgot to say, I've never seen one with a face. So it may be the three legs of wherever you found it!
    I.O.M. has the oldest parliament in the world and lies in the Irish sea just off Liverpool.

    That is a triskelion and the one you've got in the picture is properly called a Sicilian triskelion. Please check this out for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion :-)

    it's on the side of a building along Strandvej in Hellerup (Copenhagen). i'd never seen anything like it before!
