the faceprints are really quite spooky. it's amazing how clearly you can see every wrinkle and the expression. what's also amazing is how they pop out of the picture, when in reality, they're pressed into the snow.
husband
me, clearly not relishing that faceful of cold.
sabin, wearing a warm hat
another one of sabin.
hers is spookiest, because it looks like a little girl buried in the snow.
aren't they deliciously creepy?
Those are so creepy! But also look like a lot of fun! I'd love to play in the snow like that someday :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen snow masks. I also agree with you--they are spooky--very different,
ReplyDeleteBest
Tracy :)
These are über-cool! I have never seen anything like it. You say they are your faces pressed INTO the snow? (I can now see myself trying this and my neighbors calling for the men in white coats...).
ReplyDeleteMy FIL used to make awesome snow sculptures. I think his young life in the mountains as a sheep rancher gave him lots of time to play in the snow. I wonder if he ever made masks?
Seriously, these are pressed INTO the snow?
yes!! deliciously creepy is the perfect description!! very cool.....ah,.no pun intended...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that I've never tried this! Right now, we have a foot of snow so hard that you can walk on it, so I'll have to wait until the next storm. Soon, I hope!
ReplyDeleteThe bottom one is definitely spooky. Thanks for sharing and have a damn awesome weekend!
You definitely need warmer days. You are suffering from (the scientific name is) "Snow Insanity". Also known as Snow Crazy.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos they make...Love the last one of your daughter...beautifully creepy!
ReplyDeletespooky, yet cool and very intriguing
ReplyDeleteSpooky, very spooky, but interesting as well.
ReplyDeletetotally weird and creepy but brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, the last one is creepy, but very artistic. Do tell how you managed to do this...
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool! I love them. And they do pop out in the pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea... these are amazing!
ReplyDeletebrilliant! I would never tell they are pressed in if you didn't tell me! the last one is creepy
ReplyDeleteWow, those are great....wouldn't they be fun framed and hanging on a wall in your house? I know, they are kind of spooky, but seriously, they would be COOL art.
ReplyDeleteYour photo mojo rockin' the snow...

Hi Julie
ReplyDeleteI think they are really amazing. Looks like deathmasks - creepy cool
Janni
I love your phrase "deliciously creepy". Here I thought snow angels were artsy!
ReplyDeletefor the briefest moment - just now... I could see them as being indented
ReplyDeletethey do creep me out a bit julie!!! not sure i'd like to do that how on earth did you do it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe discovered this weird reverse effect doing handprints in the snow many years ago - didn't think to do it with our faces - but today, at 37 degrees in CT, the thought of pressing my face into a snow-bank is almost unbearably attractive!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Next time there is enough snow around here I'm trying it.
ReplyDeleteAs hard as I try to look at these and make them indentations, they just refuse to flip visually!
ReplyDeleteI can't understand why I've never seen this before. What an amazing trick!
