grab a cup of tea, i'm back!! |
~ do i write something deep about how it feels to be beginning so many things anew - job, home, horse - at this stage of my life, when i'm supposed to be settled in and enjoying things as they are?
~ do i try to be funny about my weird manifestations of OCD in the midst of the chaos of boxes (how dare husband just put the silverware in the dishwasher randomly and not keep knives with knives and forks with forks)?
sabin and matilde the wonder horse |
~ do i bubble over with joy over how friendly and kind people here are - people like our neighbors, who are letting us board matilde in their wonderful stable? or sabin's new teacher, who has handled her transition in the kindest, best possible way?
~ do i tell you about how the cat is so traumatized by her first experience outside here (we don't know what happened, but she was out all night) that she refuses to poke more than a whisker outside the door now a week later?
sigh...another windmill...this one near Aalborg |
~ do i wax philosophical on how sad it made me to go over and clean at the old house, which is empty and echo-y and filled with things like quality oak flooring and smeg stoves and refrigerators that i am sorely missing in this house?
~ do i attempt to express how much i've missed all of you and what you have to say and apologize for how long it's going to take me to catch up (if that's even possible)?

Just a quick note to say two things:
1) Hooray for internet, and welcome back to the online world! I'm sure I'm not alone in having missed you.
2) I am SO with you on the silverware, and go one step further in wanting small forks with small forks and big forks with big forks. It's a good thing I'm (almost) always the one doing the dishes.
You wrote "this stage of my life, when i'm supposed to be settled in and enjoying things as they are?"
Why should you settle down? Enjoy the ride, where ever it takes you, at whatever stage of your life.
You are obviously happy with this new adventure, so just keep bubbling rather than settling in.
My two cents of wisdom (or not).
I am loving that first photo! Welcome back, you have been missed, and here's the thing, you should never settle in...it should always be about finding something new, learning something new, experiencing something new...
oh yay for being back online!
and whoa, there seems to be so much going on in your life at the moment. i feel like i'm living in slow motion, compared to you... ;-)
I really ejnoy reading your blog! Looks like your life's new chapter is moving along nicely!
I so am happy you are back!!!!!!!
I love new beginnings! Funny because my post today was about me dreaming about when i will start mine! (4 to 5 years)

You do just what you always do. Say what comes out of your head and it will be perfect. And it is.
Hey - this isn't a race - no need for catching up! Good to 'see' you writing from your new space.
We all love your blogs whenever you are able to write them. However, maybe you need two horses: one for Sabin and one for yourself. Then you could ride horses together and forget the unpacked boxes and the old house still to be packaged for the next owner.
yay for the internet connection!:-)
the new place sounds wonderful (and having a horse!)
Visiting your blog is like dropping in for a cup of tea and a chat with an old friend. Welcome back.
Yes, you are online again. Miracles do happen even in Jylland.
I know it is a very Dutch custom to move EVERYTHING. So why didn't you take the refrigator and the stove with you? Or did you leave it to pick it up later when your new kitchen is finished? Or just because you are not Dutch!!!!
I'd love to sit down with you and have a cup of tea in that lovely cup in the first picture and catch up on what's been going on in our lives lately! It's seems like we've all been pretty busy. I've met up with Blanca on Saturday and it reminded me how much I missed the blog world and I couldn't believe I even considered closing my blog only a week ago.
And I too am very curious about the fridge situation - why didn't you take it with you??
I am glad to see you have moved safely and feel at least a bit settled. Sabine looks so natural on that horse!
I hope the rest of the transition is quite peaceful for you, and I am glad to see you blog from your new home!
So glad your back online! I know what you mean about the touch of sadness. After 3 years we finally got a tenant at our other house and pulled it off the market last week. We were over there this weekend, doing a final clean out. It is so bitter sweet!
I think this post is perfect. :)
So tickled to have you back full time!!
I can relate to all the shifting and changing and settling in that you're going through, especially the internet frustration. I have a possibility of a solution to my dial-up woes perhaps. I have hope anyway, I'll find out later on this week. It's amazing how cut off one can feel without the fast connection!
I'm glad you're getting settled in and look forward to your presence on my dashboard again.

I'm so glad you're back Julie.
It has been strange not finding lots of new things to read each day!
