one of the good things about moving in spring is that there are surprises everywhere around the garden. i'm happy to report that there are lilac trees and elderflower trees and plenty of tulips. there are 24 different hostas underneath the beautiful red maple tree. and while i was away this week, these beautiful alliums showed their lovely heads. i'm looking forward to seeing what's next of the summer flowers.
despite the beauty of the garden on this glorious day, i'm a little bummed, because
elizabeth's son got sick and so she couldn't visit today with her family after all...we were really looking forward to their visit, but now it will have to be another day. so i'm sending these glowing alliums their way and thinking healthy thoughts for lars to get well soon...

Two bummed out girls. I am so bummed out that I don't have any words for it. The laundry of the nightly escapes are done and drying in the sun. And now I only have pictures to look at of your place. Arggh.

Beautiful shots, I love alliums, I especially love the seed heads after they bloom, so I leave them all without deadheading, but now I have baby alliums everywhere! And how fun that you will have a whole year of what is in my garden surprises...
my goodness, those photos are so stunning, how did you do it?? I've spent weekend taking (wedding) photos with my new 18-200mm lens and half of them didn't come out well at all... so I'm also bummed, but for a different reason

We moved to our house in mid-summer, so I had to wait MONTHS to see what might happen come spring. No allium.
