then i made a new springy garland for above my desk. this house is so depressing and awful, even the simplest little touches can brighten it up significantly. some bits of a handy little moda hunky dory jelly roll made for a very quick garland indeed. in fact, i made two and i want to give one away! so if you'd like to have a little springy garland for your very own, just leave a comment about how you feed your inspiration. i'll draw a name at the end of the week and send it to one lucky person!
and lastly, a lilly pulitzer fabric garland for sabin's new room (i got the squares here ages ago). it's not hanging up properly yet, as there is still painting going on. but i think by the end of the week, we will be ready to reveal sabin's new and improved room!
i also painted clouds on the wall, made chicken stock and red velvet cupcakes and even managed to cook a vegetarian meal and completely resist putting in any bacon. and with all that coffee i drank, i expect this creative streak will go on well into the night.

don't forget the garland giveaway! leave a comment about how you feed your inspiration and you might be the lucky winner of a springy garland to brighten up these grey winter days.

oooh oooh lovely! To kick start my creativity, I generally go for a run. I used to listen to music, but I find that listening to music WHILE I run is so much more satisfying....it's as if I absorb the music better.
I tend to feed my inspiration through flickr and blogs and generally pursuing photos and room design. Really though, this feeding my inspiration thing is rather new to me. I like to dream up what I might do, even if I never get to do it (like have open kitchen cupboards for plates and glasses!)
Love what you made but the fact that you are now living in your own creativity bulb makes me even happier. You can rock the world girl.
My word: joyashe, that is exactly what my words are.
I get inspiration through blogs, books and being with my daughter.
I feed inspiration through blogs like yours!
Also, free-writing and listening to my boyfriend speak. :)
I love these garlands--so bright and cheery!

Ahh, coffee is the secret! I see you agree! French pressed with cream and natural sugar. Get's the juices going every morning...then I visit my fav. blogs like yours.
You are on fire girl! So much creativity bursting forth!
Music has always been my best muse. Although many times while standing in the shower I have gotten good ideas floating in on the mist!
When I lived where the winters were long and bleak, I put a cellophane border at the top of my windows: part deep blue and part yellow. I loved it, but the kids weren't sure they understood. (grin) I like your garlands.
lately i've been reading for inspiration. not sure if its there yet, but i'm building it a comfortable home.
Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. Reading blogs like yours. A little of looking at things and just saying "I can do that!"
How did I miss this giveaway (glad I'm not too late). I love the garland! I get my inspiration by walking away and sometimes cooking, cleaning or taking a walk. I've recently discovered that my process is to begin by pulling out all sorts of things that I might use, then I have to edit and get rid of and get re-organized or it will just sit there and go nowhere!
I feed my inspiration with journaling, writing letters, train rides, bike rides, walks, naps, and sensory gratitude lists.
My kids, music, blogs, good books, the outdoors, abandoned buildings, random objects - all of these things get the creative juices flowing for me.
i feed my inspiration by browsing through favorite blogs especially about white and country living somehow the nice home even inspire my writing process (just about to finish my fourth book about aromatherapy). your blog of course has been a source of inspiration for quite some time ;-)))
I don't know how your mind thinks of these things, but I certainly enjoy seeing them on your blog.
