christmas is here. sort of.
it bugs me a little bit that the danes celebrate christmas on what is arguably the day before christmas, but this year, i've decided to just go with it. the duck is in the oven and i'll be putting the veggies in to roast in an hour or so. the sun is shining, we went for a long walk, the gifts are wrapped and of a reasonable quantity. i have to say that everything is pretty much right with the world.
merry christmas, one and all. may it be perfect, whether you celebrate it on the right day or not.

merry christmas to you and yours!
Merry Christmas Eve! I'm off to start my own baking at my parents house. Enjoy!
So what do the Danes do on the Real Christmas Day, Dec. 25? When do they open gifts? Or do they?
Craciun fericit (Merry Christmas) from Moldova, where they celebrate 2 Christmases: Dec. 25 and January 7 (orthodox).
We do both! Big eating tonight and gifts tomorrow.
Have a lovely time you 3!
Traditions are funny things, aren't they? What ever day, what ever way, may your celebrations be warm and loving and your dreams for the future year unfold with promise and joy.
When in Rome...
Since I grew up in Sweden with the whole celebrating on Christmas Eve and I now live in Australia where they celebrate on Christmas Day I compromise and I do both.
Countries celebrating on Christmas Eve like to keep Christmas itself free of all that materialism - presents the day before, Christmas itself for the true reason which has nothing to do with trees or presents...they are of pagan origin after all.
